Pentagram - Welcome Home
Day 3 (Wednesday 17th May), at sea. Heading direct to Niue with Barbara Jean. Position at 2100 GMT : 17 17' South, 155 41'West, Wind : 10-15 kts SoutherlyIt has been a long time coming after 3 months cruising the Society Islands & the 7 months prior spent traveling, visiting with friends & family in Australia & New Zealand. It feels good to get moving again & on to pastures new with a little sadness too, to say goodbye to so many lovely people we have met on the islands. Niue is a beautiful island though with warm, generous & welcoming people, a trait of all the South Pacific Islanders we have found in our time here. It will be good to return for a few days.It has been fantastic meeting up with this years entries to the rally, albeit that we are struggling with names.

Pentagram - Leg 1 Rodney Bay, St Lucia to Santa Marta, Colombia.
?0440, Tues 13/1/15 - 23nm N.E of ArubaWe arrived in Rodney Bay slightly later than we would have liked due to the "Christmas Winds", blowing 45 knots in Barbados & around the islands. Oh well, there's worse places to get stuck, could have been Skeggy!A warm welcome greeted us when we finally arrived by both the World Cruising Club team & a cheery "Ahoy Pentagram!", as we cruised past to our berth from John, Stella & Brian on Exocet Strike. We had met them in September in A Coruna, Northern Spain. Our first landfall after leaving the UK. It was great to see some friendly & familiar faces. The start of the first leg went well & we crossed the start line in around fifth place with two reefs in the main & a full genoa. Not too shabby a start as there are just the two.
