Amy’s Gift to Saint Lucia

Amy’s Gift to Saint Lucia is a project which offers music tuition and therapy at the Dunnottar School, as well as supporting the Boys Training Centre with music lessons and drug and internet safety awareness. They work across the island of Saint Lucia, which is the finish point for the ARC Rally, improving children’s lives through music.

The Dunnottar School

The Dunnottar School provides education to children with visual, auditory and developmental disabilities. Many of these children come from challenging backgrounds and music therapy plays a crucial role in improving their self-perception, concentration, communication and social interaction skills.

The Boys Training Centre

The Boys Training Centre functions as a residential facility for boys who have been placed under the jurisdiction of the Family Court. They are legally designated as wards of the Court and span from ages 10 to 18.

The centre caters to two primary categories:

  • Boys under 16 who are in conflict with the law
  • Those under care and protection

The recent inclusion of music and singing has had a remarkable impact. The establishment of the band has emerged as a central feature of activities at the Centre, with members performing joyously to the delight of their peers.
