World ARC

Round-the-world adventure from Saint Lucia or Australia
World ARC 2023 yachts at anchor off Direction Island in Cocos, with a white sand beach and palm trees

World ARC is a 26,000NM, 15-month circumnavigation via the Panama Canal, Pacific islands, Australia, the Indian Ocean, South Africa, Atlantic Ocean, Brazil and the Caribbean. The circumnavigation starts every January from Saint Lucia, concluding in Saint Lucia the following April.

For a slower circumnavigation or to sail halfway, yachts can leave or join the rally in Australia. A popular option is to sail with the rally to Australia, take a year to explore the region, then join the following year's edition for the cruise back to the Caribbean.

Boats

The size limit for World ARC is larger than our other rallies: monohulls 12.19m to 24.38m (40-80 feet) and multihulls 12.19m to 19.81m (40-65 feet).

Larger yachts are generally more comfortable for long passages, able to carry more provisions and equipment and provide more space for the crew. To make the most of World ARC, we suggest that 6 knots should be an achievable cruising speed.

Crew

World ARC is like a floating village, containing people of all ages and nationalities. Some boats have the same crew for the entire rally, while others invite different friends to join them around the route. Talk to us about the best ports to change crew and how to manage friends and family flying in.

There's always an old friend and a new face in every port!

Support

In every rally port, the yellow shirt team are there to help you make the most of your stay. From arranging for Customs and Immigration to visit far-flung islands to organising the best parties, the yellow shirts are the first point of contact.

When the rally is at sea, the 24-7 professional on-call support is there in an emergency to liaise with the authorities and smooth the crisis.

Costs

The entry fee for World ARC is a boat fee based on length overall, and a crew fee for every person onboard. Multihulls pay a supplement. For example, the 2026 cost for a 15.3m (50 feet) yacht is £29,500 for a full circumnavigation, or £18,500 for a half rally Caribbean to Australia. The full rally crew fee is £3,000.

The boat fee includes complimentary mooring before departure, immigration (not visa) fees, cruising permits, including the Panama Canal transit. For full details, request an information pack.
