This document is here to protect both you and us. To use our Services, you must agree to our Terms of Use.

 

1. Age Requirement:

2. The accuracy of the information you provide: 

  1. By registering for our Websites or Services, you are guaranteeing that all of the information you provide is accurate.
  2. You agree to not to select as your username:
    • A false name
    • The name of another person 
    • A name subject to the rights of a person other than you 
    • A name that is otherwise vulgar, obscene or offensive.

  4. You must also notify us before registering multiple accounts to prevent being flagged for abuse.

  1. We are not and cannot be held responsible for the Content you create or access elsewhere while using our Services.
  2. Be mindful how you use our Services. If you are breaking laws, being obscene, or abusing our infrastructure, we have the right to stop you from doing these things.
  3. It is up to you to use caution when visiting any third-party resources we may link to outside of our Websites. They are outside of our control, and we cannot be responsible for any content or actions that result from their use.
  4. You may not use the Services to obtain information about or make decisions about anyone but yourself. 
  5. You and you alone are responsible for any reliance by you on the Services or other use you make of the Services. 
  6. Companies may be listed on our Services or advertise through our Services. This should not be considered an endorsement nor a recommendation by us, nor a sponsorship of us by them unless otherwise noted. We are not responsible for any outcomes, positive or negative, you may have with such businesses.
  7. Individuals and companies may list various items for rent or sale on or through our Services.  We make no warranty or guarantees of the accuracy of such listings. We are not responsible for any outcomes, positive or negative, you may have with such listings.

4. As conditions of use of our Services:

  1. You agree that you will not use the Services for any purpose that is prohibited by these Terms of Use. 
  2. You accept responsibility for the acts of others using your account to access our Services as we cannot tell your actions from another’s using your account.  
  3. You agree that all Content you access by using our Services is at your own risk and you alone are responsible for any damage or loss to you. 
  4. You accept and agree that we do not guarantee the accuracy of Content you access on or through the Services.
  5. You agree that you will not contribute Content, in any way, on or through our Services that
    • Is unlawful
    • Is threatening, abusive or harassing, 
    • Is defamatory, libelous, deceptive or fraudulent
    • Is invasive of another's privacy
    • Is tortious
    • Is offensive, profane, contains or depicts pornography, or is otherwise inappropriate as determined by us in our sole discretion, 
    • That you know is misleading, untruthful, false, or inaccurate
    • That constitutes unauthorized or unsolicited advertising
    • That impersonates any person or entity
    • That impersonates any of our employees or representatives
    • That includes anyone's identification documents, personal information or sensitive financial information.

5. Payments and Promotional Credits:

  1. For those Services that require payment we currently accept payments only by PayPal, major credit and debit cards or, in some cases bank transfer.
  2. If you have received promotional credit for use purchasing Services on our site, you must redeem it within 6 months of the date it was issued, unless otherwise indicated. All other credit will remain on your account as long as you're active in a given 6 month period.

Just like you the customer, we as a company have rights:

  1. We have no special relationship with you.
  2. We have no fiduciary duty to you.
  3. You agree that we have no duty to take any action regarding:
    • Which Subscribers gain access to the Services
    • What Content you access via the Services
    • How you may use or interpret the Content
    • Such Content is protected by copyrights, trademarks, patents, service marks, trade secrets or other proprietary rights and laws. 
    • Trademarks used on this Website or associated Services are the property of their respective owners
    • Take any action that may or does impose (as determined by us in our sole discretion) an unreasonably large load on our (or our third party providers') infrastructure
    • Interfere or attempt to interfere with the proper working of the Services or any activities conducted on the Services
    • Bypass or attempt to bypass any measures we may use to restrict or prevent access to the Services (or other accounts, computer systems or networks connected to the Services)
    • Add "spam" on the Services
    • Use automated or manual software, devices, or other means to "spider" or "crawl" any page of the Websites
    • Harvest or scrape any Content from the Services
    • Use the Services for high-risk activities including but not limited to any use where the failure of service could lead to personal injury, death or environmental damage
    • Otherwise, take any action in violation of our guidelines and policies.
    • Decipher, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer or otherwise attempt to obtain or derive any source code or underlying algorithms or ideas of any part of the Services (including without limitation any application), except for when, where and how applicable laws specifically prohibit such restriction 
    • Modify, or otherwise create derivative works of any part of the Services without express permission

  5. The licenses you grant to us and our users do not affect your other ownership or license rights to your User Content, including the right to grant additional licenses to your User Content, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

    • Subject to the conditions described in our Privacy Policy, we shall be free to use and distribute the Feedback to others without limitation.

The World Cruising Club Limited family


The World Cruising Club Limited family is a group of online and offline services and products. Together, these are known as “Services”.

You, as a user of our Services, are known as a “Service User”.

Service Users are collectively known as the “Community”.

This Privacy Policy applies to the use of or interaction with any of the Services by you, the Service User.

Identity, access and what information we collect about you

When you sign up for one of our Services, we will first ask for your First and Last name and email address so you can personalize your new account, and we can send you updates, or other important information.

Some Services you sign-up for may require other personal and non-personal information needed to deliver or provide the Service. For example, to sail in a rally your nationality and information about your boat will be needed.

There may also be other personal and non-personal information you can choose to provide to increase the value you receive from the Services.

While using the Services, you may also choose to add or share things like comments, reports, reviews, ratings, forum posts, photos and other content intended to be seen by the Community.

When you call, email or message us, we will keep a record of that for future reference. When you visit the pages of our website, we will track that to make our Services better for you. For example, conversion rates and to test new designs. We also store any information you choose to share, like surveys or feedback, for as long as it makes sense.

Membership of www.worldcruising.com and participation in our rallies is restricted to those aged 18 years and above, unless participating under the direction of a parent or guardian. Information relating to age, nationality, address and emergency contacts is stored for under 18’s, but may only be added to our database by a parent or guardian. 

Membership of www.oceancrewlink.com is restricted to those aged 18 years or above.

Use of www.noonsite.com is restricted to those aged 13 years or above, in line with industry standards for social media.

We will never sell your personal identifying information to third-parties. 

We will only ever share your information:

  • If you have asked or given consent to us to share that information.
  • To the Services you have requested, with your permission. See this list of third-party services we use below.
  • To investigate, prevent, or take actions regarding suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, illegal activities, violations of our Terms of Service, or as required by law.
  • If required by authorized governmental and law enforcement agencies, to facilitate cross border movements for rallies; or if appropriately requested by such agencies under UK Data Protection Laws.


Third-Party Accounts
You may choose to link a third-party account to our Services, for example, using your Facebook ID to login to one of our websites. If you do, we will receive data about that account to allow the link.

How we use information
We use information we collect in a variety of ways, including:

  • To provide and operate our Services
  • To improve and personalize our Services
  • To understand how you use our Services
  • To develop new products, services and features
  • To communicate with you to inform or update you about our Services or your use of our Services. 
  • For marketing or promotional purposes, or customer support

Data Retention
We keep the personal information we collect when we have a legitimate business need to do so. For example to comply with legal, tax or accounting needs or to provide you with a service you have requested.

When we no longer have a legitimate business need to keep your personal information we will either delete or anonymize it.

Deleted data
If you delete anything from your account, or the account itself, it will be removed from our servers and systems within 30 days except where it conflicts with our Data Retention policy. 

If you delete your account, it may prevent you from using some Services that require an active account. Deletion of data may require we stop providing some Services to you if the Services rely on that data. 

Location of Site and Data
The Services are operated in the United Kingdom. If you are not in the United Kingdom, please be aware that any information you provide to us will be sent to the United Kingdom. 

Some of the subprocessors we work with are located in other countries, for example, the United States. Please be aware that your data may be sent to these subprocessors to deliver our services to you. 

You consent to this by using our Services or providing us with your information.
