Bringing together expertise, experience and a shared passion for bluewater sailing
Choosing the right yacht and preparing it for life offshore are important steps in any bluewater adventure. But the journey is about much more than the boat itself. It is about knowledge, preparation, experience, support and the community of people who understand what it means to head offshore.
Our Bluewater Partnership Programme brings World Cruising Club together with selected yacht builders who share our commitment to bluewater sailing and to supporting sailors throughout their journey.
We launched the programme to create closer links between the people who build ocean-going yachts and the people who sail them. By combining the expertise of leading yacht builders with World Cruising Club's decades of experience organising ocean crossings and offshore rallies, we can create new opportunities for learning, preparation, technical insight and shared experiences.
A programme for the whole World Cruising Club community
The Bluewater Partnership Programme is not just about the owners of our Partner Builders' yachts. It is about bringing additional knowledge and expertise into the wider World Cruising Club community.
Our partners bring specialist knowledge of yacht design, construction, systems, equipment and life at sea. We can share that expertise through seminars, events, educational content, practical advice and opportunities to connect sailors with the people who build and support the yachts designed to take them across oceans.
For owners of our Partner Builders' yachts, the programme provides an enhanced connection between their yacht, its manufacturer and the World Cruising Club rally experience. For everyone else in our community, it provides access to another valuable source of bluewater knowledge and experience – whether you are preparing for your first ocean crossing, considering your next yacht or already sailing around the world.
Ultimately, the aim is simple: to help more sailors prepare well, sail confidently and get the most from their bluewater adventures.
