The ARC Rally is the world's most popular sailing rally, with roughly 800 participants every year.

2025 was the 40th edition of this iconic sailing event and Yachting World reported how the rally has evolved over time.

From its inception in 1986 following an idea by Jimmy Cornell, it has developed into a major event in the global sailing calendar. In 2025, over 30 nations took part in the rally, lighting up the streets of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

On start day, the harbour was a buzz of excitement, where a large crowd of locals cheered the fleet off, and the event was streamed to thousands of people online.
