The ARC Europe fleet are starting to arrive in Horta on the island of Faial. The first boat to cross the line was Catalyst, a Balance 526 skippered by David Price, completing the journey in just over 7 days 15 hours. It has been a fast passage with the first few arrivals taking less than 10 days and the whole fleet expected to arrive within the next week.

As the boats round Mont de Guia on Faial and cross the finish line, they are greeted by the spectacular sight of Pico ahead of them.

Many of the crews have spotted some fantastic wildlife on the way, with lots of dolphin sightings as well as some whales, and one even had a visit from a passing barn swallow.

Once in Horta, the crews have time to explore ashore before moving on to Terceira and Sao Miguel.
