Grenada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA)

The Grenada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (GSPCA) is an animal welfare charity which shelters injured or unwell animals and provides vital veterinary care.

Funds given to the GSPCA will be used to purchase an in-house blood machine allowing staff to run blood chemistry tests directly at the shelter. This will provide immediate results and enable them to make faster, more informed medical decisions for their animals. Currently, the GSPCA is only able to send blood samples to SGU University for analysis. This process can result in delays of several days for results which can be detrimental to critically ill animals. Additionally, the university is closed during summer and winter breaks, leaving them without access to blood testing during those periods.

Grenada is the location of the finish of World Cruising Club’s second largest Rally, the ARC+, so support from the Positive Impact Fund makes a valuable contribution to the local community, giving back to a destination which welcomes large numbers of participants on an annual basis.
