Our Rallies

Your adventure starts here!

Most people join a World Cruising Club rally for the security and peace of mind of an organised event; for the camaraderie and friendship of a group of like-minded people; and for the fun of sailing in a fleet of boats.

It's as much fun for experienced sailors as for those new to ocean sailing. Some sailors choose to return again and again, and have sailed thousands of miles with us. Whether you're an old friend or a new friend, we know that everyone will have a unique adventure, supported by us.

Who Takes Part?

World Cruising Club rallies are for sail and motor boats, monohulls or multihulls,  sailed double-handed or by a crew. Families with children, retirees, students, professionals working from the boat - anyone who loves the sea and wants an ocean adventure.

The smallest size allowed is 8.23m (27 feet), or 12.19m (40 feet) for World ARC. Each boat must have at least two adults onboard.

Fun Competition

Most of our rallies have an element of fun competition to recognise sailing skill and seamanship. We calculate a handicap based on boat dimensions to allow reasonable competition between boats of similar sizes, makes and models. It is just for fun - these are cruising rallies, not ocean races.

The ARC is a little different, as there is a β€˜race within the rally’. The racing division offers yachts with an IRC racing handicap to compete under the Racing Rules of Sailing. This is usually popular with boats heading to compete in the Caribbean regattas.
